Review: Loreal Elvive Colour Protect Shampoo and Conditioner

Product: Loreal Elvive Colour Protect Shampoo and Conditioner

What I like about it:

Affordable and does the job well. It cleanses and nourishes hair without drying it out and fading the colour.

I do find that it keeps my colour-treated hair radiant for longer and it nourishes well.

I was a bit skeptical of the shampoo as I was afraid colour-protecting shampoos would mean it wouldn't deep cleanse enough but I find it does cleanse well. The conditioner is very rich and detangles hair easily.

What I dislike about it:

Works well for its pricing.

Overall, a great product that does what it advertises.

Review: Dove Dry Therapy Conditioner

Product: Dove Dry Therapy Conditioner

What I like about it:

Works really well to condition your hair. I have long, chemcially treated, dry hair.

As an impatient person, it works even if i just leave it on for a couple of minutes. Easy to use, fuss-free.

What I dislike about it:

No particular pleasant scent.

Overall, a really good conditioner that works really well, inexpensive and widely available.

Review: John Frieda Frizz-Ease Miraculous Recovery Strengthening Creme Masque (Hair Mask)

Product: John Frieda Frizz-Ease Miraculous Recovery Strengthening Creme Masque (Hair Mask)

This is basically a hair mask for dry hair. You leave it on for 15-20minutes and rinse off OR as an extra boost, I sometimes use it as conditioner for a quick fix.

What I like about it:

It instantly detangles your hair and makes it much softer. This is really good for me as I have very long hair.

It has a really pleasant scent which I really like.

It conditions your hair well.

What I dislike about it:

I have slightly dry hair and this is pretty conditioning for me but I'm not sure if it will enough for those with very dry hair as it is labelled 'critical care'.

Overall, I really love it. It's inexpensive, smells wonderful and the effects are immediate as soon as I put it on.

Review: Aussie Volume Shampoo & Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner

Product: Aussie Volume Shampoo & Aussie 3 minute Miracle Moisture Treatment

I have been using these products together as a shampoo & conditioner set.

What I like about it:

The voluminizing shampoo works! It gives my hair volume but also moisturizes it well. I also love the scent!

The 3 minute Miracle Moisture Treatment is an excellent conditioner. Note that the packaging is quite unique, you squirt it out, there is no cap, but there won't be any leakage not to worry.

I like the 2 as a set and leaves your hair faintly scented.

I wouldn't say that the conditioner is the best I've tried but it is good. The voluminizing shampoo really surprised me because not many shampoos which claim to have voluminizng properties actually work ;) I can see a subtle lift in my crown area after my hair dries.

The affordability of both products is also a major plus point!

What I dislike about it:

It is not super intensely moisturizing if you have very dry hair but it works for my hair which is normal/slightly dry, coloured, long hair.

Review: John Frieda Frizz-Ease Hair Serum

Product: John Frieda Frizz-Ease Hair Serum

I have tried the normal and extra strength formula. Both work well, but I do think the normal strength will suffice for most people.

I follow the package's instructions and apply on wet hair after a shower.

What I like about it:

There is no immediate effect but I find that after months of religious use, it has helped my hair texture significantly. I had very frizzy and dry hair because of dying my hair but this has helped.

After my hair became less frizzy, I didn't use it as much because it is definitely a strong formula. I just maintained my hair with regular conditioner and my hair has been pretty much under control since then.

I found that the best thing to "cure" my frizzy hair (because of hair dye) was to cut off the ends and a good regiment of moisturizing shampoo, conditioner & serum.

What I dislike about it:

Quite a heavy formula and requires prolonged dedicated use.

Review: Aussie Luscious Long Leave-In Conditioner

Product:  Aussie Luscious Long Leave-In Conditioner

This is a leave-in conditioner spray specifically for long hair. I have very long, thick hair which is dyed, so I do like to take care of my hair and make sure they are conditioned and silky.

What I like about it:

It definitely works. You can feel your hair become much silkier the moment you apply it. I spray it all over dry hair and just comb it through to spread the product out.

It has a lovely sweet smell that isn't overpowering.

The formula makes your hair soft and silky without weighing it down. I love that it is a spray so it feels very lightweight and not sticky like a cream or lotion formula.

It is very convenient to use, just spritz it when your hair feels extra dry. I also use it as a quick-fix on days where I am too lazy to condition my hair :)

The bottle contains a lot of product, definitely inexpensive and worth the buy!

Review: Loreal Elnett Satin Hairspray (Normal Strength)

Product: Loreal Elnett Satin Hairspray (Normal Strength)

What I like about it:

Excellent, flexible-hold hairspray. Doesn't make your curls crunchy at all but holds them for a good 4-5 hours on my hair. My hair is naturally slightly wavy and very thick and long.

Would highly recommend it! I'm only using the normal strength one and I find that it does a great job of holding my curls even in ultra humid weather. If you have very sleek, fine hair, you can try the stronger hold version.

What I dislike about it:

The smell is horrendous. I can only use it outside so the smell doesn't linger. However, some of my friends don't seem to mind the smell that much so it might not smell bad to everyone ;)

Bonus: I heard there is a odourless version so I would recommend that instead!

Review: Lucidol Designing Aqua Hair Curl Lotion (Airy)

Product: Lucidol Designing Aqua Hair Curl Lotion (Airy)

I use this before I curl my hair. It claims to "design without hard set, to create light and airy curls (for use before curling)".

What I like about it:

Unique product that is used before curling your hair.

It works well to keep the curls and it has a very nice fruity-floral scent.

The spray nozzle works well and it is very easy to use.

I would say the ability to hold curl on its own is not as good as a hair spray but using it before the curls will help strenghten your hold without the curls being crunchy. I also use it as a sort of heat protectant although the bottle description does not state this function. Together with hair spray after curling my hair, works very well to maintain soft bouncy curls. Not sticky or heavy on your hair at all.

What I dislike about it:

May not be a necessity especially if you have a good hair spray. Also, unsure if it has heat protecting components as that is important to protect your hair from the heat of the curling iron. To use this & a heat protectant would seem like too much hassle.

But overall, it does help to hold curl and it has a very pleasant scent. Good to try if you want to have extra hold without weighing your hair down.
